CUP & EuroCUP

CUP X and EuroCUP III

In 2009 OpenEye will be holding two scientific meetings. Our tenth CUP meeting in Santa Fe (March 8th to 11th) and our third EuroCUP meeting in Toledo, Spain (April 22nd to 24th).

To celebrate reaching a double digit CUP, I've invited back all the keynote speakers from previous years. As many of you know this is an eclectic but high-powered bunch (see below). In this context, who better to give his first Levinthal Lecture than my friend and mentor, Barry Honig. And as Barry will be attending, I make no excuses for also including sessions on electrostatics, shape and shape and electrostatics. Finally, for those interested, Bob Tolbert will be running a half day session on OpenEye toolkits on the Sunday before the meeting. As always, there is no registration cost, attendees need only cover travel and accommodation.

Levinthal Day: Brian Shoichet, Michael Sherman, Steve Muchmore, Tom Darden, Ajay Jain, Tack Kuntz, Vijay Pande, Kennie Merz, Paul Labute, Barry Honig

In Toledo, Spain, close to Madrid, EuroCUP III starts on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 22nd, and ends with lunch on Friday, April 24th. We have scheduled 4 sessions:

  • Shape and Electrostatics
  • QSAR: Is it Worth it?
  • Fragment Design: Good Idea or the Latest Blind Alley?
  • Databases and Data Sources for Molecular Modeling

The Castelian Allocution (keynote) in Toledo will be given by Professor Dr. Jürgen Bajorath on the role journals should play to improve our field.

In addition to the Main Sessions, we will hold a half-day Toolkit Session, where toolkit users will have the opportunity to share some of their work. An OpenEye Training Workshop on Python/OEChem will also be available for those interested in programming (limited to 10 trainees only!).

There are some speaking slots available at both meetings, and there are also poster exhibitions. So if you would like to contribute please follow the links below.

As always, I look forward to seeing you,
