2. Installation

This chapter provides the necessary details required to install VIDA 3.0. Currently supported platforms include:

Microsoft Windows 2000
Microsoft Windows XP
Mac OS X 10.3 (PowerPC or Intel)
Mac OS X 10.4 (PowerPC or Intel)
RedHat Enterprise Linux 3.0
RedHat Enterprise Linux 3.0 64-bit
RedHat Enterprise Linux 4.0
RedHat Enterprise Linux 4.0 64-bit
RedHat Linux 9.0
SuSE Linux 9.1
SuSE Linux 9.1 64-bit
SuSE Linux 10
SuSE Linux 10 64-bit

Support for additional platforms is possible and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. To request support for additional platforms, please contact support@eyesopen.com.

Prior versions of VIDA do not need to be explicitly uninstalled in order to install the current version. The current version will, by default, install into a new directory specified by the version number. Multiple versions can co-exist on the same machine without difficulty.
