8.1 Export Display to HTML

The display in the Form Browser display can be exported and saved in HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). HTML files can be viewed locally in a web browser or placed on a web site. Additionally, most popular word processing and spreadsheet applications can open HTML files.

To export an HTML version of the display of the Focused molecule, choose the ``Export HTML (Focused Molecule)" option in the File menu which will prompt for a new filename to save the form. In addition to this HTML file, an additional directory will be created which contains the 2D molecule image. The directory and its contents must be copied with the HTML file if the HTML file is to be moved to another location to ensure that the molecule image will still be displayed in the file.

To export an HTML version of all of the currently loaded molecules, choose the ``Export HTML (All)" option in the File menu which will then prompt for a new directory name in which to export HTML versions of every molecule. The directory contents will include a file called index.html that can be opened to view the contents of the directory. At the top of each page will be prev and next links which will allow viewers to easily browse through the molecules.

Once these HTML files have successfully been exported, a web browser (if one could be located) will be opened to view the contents of the new HTML files.
