3.3.3 Peripheral Windows

In addition to the central main window, there can be multiple peripheral windows docked around the edges of the main window or as separate floating top level windows (see Figure 3.3).

Currently, multiple peripheral windows are available: the list window (see chapter 9), the 2D preview (see chapter 6), the style window (see chapter 5), the scripting window (see chapter 11), the process manager (see chapter 10), and the command browser (see chapter 11). Furthermore, all of the main windows (see section 3.3.2) discussed above can be displayed as a peripheral window provided that it is not currently the active main window.

The display of peripheral windows is controlled by selecting or unselecting the desired windows from the Windows menu. Currently displayed windows are indicated by the presence of a check mark next to their names and can also be hidden by clicking on the `X' in the upper right hand corner of the window. The layout of the peripheral windows can be controlled by dragging the individual windows to their desired locations. This capability of dragging and docking windows can be disabled in the application Preferences under the General/Windows section if desired (see chapter 12).
