5.9.4 Selection

The last section on the Surface page of the Style Window is the Selection section which consists of a slider and three buttons. The slider allows the current selected region on the surface to be grown or shrunk. Single vertices can be selected by simply clicking on the surface in the 3D display. A line of vertices can be selected by holding down the Shift key and selecting a second vertex on the surface. This will select the shortest path between the two selected vertices. Examples of these can be seen in Figure 5.19.

The first button, indicated by a white disc on a black field, removes all of the unselected portions of the surface. The second button, indicated by the black disc on a white field, removes the selected portion of the surface. The last button restores the surface to its original state, uncropped and uncolored.
