As previously mentioned, many changes to state files cannot be done inside Vivant. Instead, those changes must be made in VIDA or AFITT. To facilitate this, VIDA can be launched directly from Vivant. Selecting ``Open in VIDA" from the Vivant menu will launch a new instance of VIDA starting with the current state of Vivant.

The ``Return to Vivant" button (See 6.3) saves the state back to Vivant and closes the VIDA instance. Since the last view in VIDA may not have been saved in a bookmark, a new bookmark is added named ``Start." If unwanted, it can easily be deleted from the Organize Bookmarks dialog (See 6.4.2).
