European Applications Scientist -- Alsace, France

OpenEye Scientific Software, an innovative force in the field of molecular modeling and drug discovery software, has an opening for an Applications Scientist in our Alsace, France office. This position will work along side the Director of European accounts to support existing and cultivate new customers.

Duties of the position include (but are not limited to) presenting software to new and existing customers, providing remote and on-site assistance with customer evaluations, acting as an initial point of contact for technical support, assisting with European trade shows, attending scientific conferences, identifying potential new leads and performing independent scientific research with OpenEye tools. This position will require a significant amount of travel within the EU as well as occasional travel to OpenEye offices in New Mexico and Massachusetts.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in chemistry, computational chemistry or related field with 3-5 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Fluency in English is required. Fluency in French and/or German is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong desire and commitment to work closely with customers to ensure a long, successful and positive experience with OpenEye software.
  • Strong Linux and Microsoft Windows skills.
  • Right to work in the European Union.

Other skills:

  • Previous experience with OpenEye software is strongly preferred.
  • Programming experience with C++, Python, and/or Java desirable particularly with experience using OpenEye toolkits.

This position is based out of Alsace, France and it is expected that the successful candidate will work in that office when not otherwise traveling.
